Free Printable - Happy Birthday Jesus!

One of my favorite Christmas songs is Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord by Boney M.  It is such a fun song and very upbeat (Chris and I along with the kids danced to this song on repeat the other night) and it also has a great message.

"Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
And man will live forevermore, because of Christmas Day."

The holiday season is such a crazy time for all of us, but sometimes we really need to just sit back and relax with the family (or dance with them!) and remember what Christmas is all about.  It's for all of us to remember the day our wonderful King and Savior was born.  I am so grateful that Brody's preschool celebrated Christmas with a special party.  It wasn't called a Christmas party, but it was actually a birthday party for Jesus.  The kids planned the event, from what food they were going to eat, what games they would play, and other fun details.  I made a special banner for their class and I want to share this with all of you.  I hope this "Happy Birthday Jesus" banner can find a place in your home on Christmas day.  And when you look at it, you can remember what you are truly celebrating!!

To get your own FREE printable PDF file, DOWNLOAD HERE. Just print on white heavy cardstock paper, cut along the lines, make slits, and string with ribbon to make a festive banner of your own!

Have a  Merry Christmas!!  From my house to yours, I hope you have a blessed day with your loved ones.  I am so grateful to those of you who read my blog and let me be a part of your lives.

Kisses from Skylar!

Taking Photos for the Christmas Card

I'm sorry it's been a while since I've written a post.  I'm sure you can relate, but December is such a crazy month, with all of the Christmas shopping, decorating, baking, and of course keeping up with all of the regular stuff!  I feel like I am so behind this year.  I think it was this time last year that all of our Christmas cards were already mailed out and received by friends and family.  I finally just ordered our Christmas cards today.  Who knows when they'll actually be mailed out!

If you are a little behind with your Christmas tasks and haven't even had a chance to take pictures of the family for your Christmas card, here is a great link from the wonderful HowDoesShe girls -- "10 Tips For Taking Terrific Pictures of Kids".  I tried following these tips, but I think Brody and Skylar were just testing me the day we took these pictures.  In some shots Brody looked great, in other shots Skylar looked great, but we couldn't get one good shot with both of them!!  So the Christmas photo we ended up picking is not in this post.  I'll have to keep it a surprise for those of you who will be receiving our card.

While none of the photos in this post made the Christmas card, I do love each shot just because they are images of my precious Brody and Skylar.  They make me feel like the luckiest mom in the world!  Hope you have better luck taking pictures of your kids!
