Free Printable - One Year Blog Birthday

One year ago, Sweet Metel Moments made its debut in the blog world.  I will forever be grateful to my husband who pushed me into starting this blog.  I thought it would be a great place to share some stories about my family, practice my photography, share sweet treat recipes, and showcase some of my party creations.  It has turned out to be such a wonderful adventure - from the creation of my Etsy Shop, writing for My Baby Clothes Boutique, being published on FaveCrafts (will post more on that later), and more!

I want to say thank you to the amazing support I've received from my wonderful family and friends who not only read my blog, but share my blog with others, leave comments, send a positive email my way, or just continue to give me words of encouragement.  I would also like to say thank you to my new bloggy friends that I've met through this journey, and to the wonderful bloggers that feature my work on their site and help bring thousands of readers here (like Kara's Party Ideas, Pizzazzerie, Tip Junkie, I Share Printables to name a few!).

And a huge thank you to my wonderful Etsy customers!  Your business means the world to me!  And knowing that my designs are being used at such special celebrations brings me so much joy and honor.  I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see all of those fun celebrations take place.

To show my gratitude, I created a 5x7 Thank You Card printable that you can use to send someone a special note of thanks.  Hope you like it!

Download for free HERE.

I am so excited to see what lies ahead in the future.  I leave all things in the hands of God and only He knows what is to come.  Thank you Lord for all of your blessings!  And thanks to my blog readers for joining me in this adventure.

Brody's First Day of Kindergarten

Wow, I can't believe that Brody is now in Kindergarten!  The Lord really answered my prayers since we had such a wonderful first day of school today.  Last night, when were reading to him the Ready Confetti poem from his teachers (which I really loved!), Brody was dancing and shaking his butt, and that's when I knew that he was truly excited for his first day of school.  Then this morning he woke up with some confetti stuck to his face and hair with a huge smile on his face, and the first thing he said was, "I'm ready to brush my teeth."

I am so proud of my big boy.  He has grown up so much and I know that he will learn so many wonderful things this year.

I hope your family had a great first day of school today too!  Or if you're not in school yet, then enjoy the rest of your summer break and I wish you the best of luck!

First Day of School Pictures

I can't believe how quickly this summer has flown by!  We have had such an amazing summer and I'm not ready for it to end!  But I know I must accept reality and get ready for school to begin.  It is even harder to believe that Brody will be starting Kindergarten this year!!  Here he is looking so handsome for his first day of preschool last year:

That morning was full of tears (from Brody during dropoff and from me driving home from dropoff!), I am praying that this year it will be different.  While I've been secretly crying behind Brody's back thinking that my baby boy will be leaving me and going into Kindergarten, he has been extremely excited and counting down the days when he gets to go to his new school.

I know he has grown up so much this past year.  He attended several camps and Vacation Bible Schools this summer and even attending Sunday school on a regular basis, when before, he just wanted to stay with Mommy and Papa.  There has not been a moment when he missed being with me.  It is funny how that makes me so happy and so sad at the same time.

Whether you are happy or sad that school will be starting soon, I know most of you will be taking first day of school pictures of your loved ones.  Check out these awesome FREE First Day of School printables on HowDoesShe and I Heart Nap Time.
