Brody's Candyland Party

I had so much fun planning Brody's 5th birthday party since it involved lots and lots of candy!  One of the highlights of the party was the bright and colorful candy buffet.  Sweets included long twirly lollipops, large Pixy Stix, Oreo pops, Smarties, Sour Patch Kids, and ice cream cones filled with Froot Loops, amongst other candies.  We also had some buckets of chocolate candy bars that were a big hit for the adults.  Another big hit was the castle bouncehouse that the kids enjoyed (and even some of us adults towards the end of the party!)  Thank you so much to our wonderful family and friends who celebrated this special day with our very special birthday boy!

The birthday cake was actually a carrot cake from Walmart and I added some colorful gumdrops and swirly fondant lollipops that I had so much fun making!  Of course I had to add a personalized cake topper to make the cake extra special for our Brody.

Other party decor included giant lollipops scattered around the house as well as colorful paper lanterns made to look like floating wrapped candies.  A big thank you to my amazing husband who worked on these DIY projects and for being so supportive throughout the whole party planning process!

As far as the party favors, two guests took home Candyland board games for guessing how many jelly beans were in a jar (congrats Michelle and Sang!) and every child received a brown bag to fill up with his/her favorite goodies.  To get on the parents' good side, each child received a toothbrush as well.
