Easy Valentine's Day Party Ideas

Valentine's Day is only a few days away!  I feel horrible for slacking and not posting as much as I should have in honor of one of my favorite holidays.  But it's just been way too crazy in my household and I put all of my focus on birthdays these past few weeks.

If you are like me and absolutely love Valentine's Day and don't feel like you have the time to do something special for your little ones, do not fret!  I designed a small tablescape that would be perfect for an intimate gathering for just your family, or a small play date.  Or if you wanted to use these little tips, you can create a party big enough for a large classroom.

Tip #1:
Use Little Debbies as a special treat.  They look absolutely beautiful, just take them out of the wrapper and put on a pretty display.  I used pink and white polka dot scrapbook paper (or you can use wrapping paper), and placed them on a cake stand.  It is up to you whether or not you want to share your little secret that it is not homemade.

Tip #2:
Use pretty Valentine's Day cups to display ordinary items like cereal, candy, chips, etc.  I bought pink and red silcone hearts from Jo-Ann craft store and put Cocoa Puffs in them as cute little snack holders.

Tip #3:
Make a banner using heart-shaped ornaments or other heart-shaped cutouts.  I was lucky enough to score some heart-shaped felt ornaments at Target after Christmas season at 90% off (they were 10 cents per pack of  3!)  If you don't have anything like this already in your craft closet, you can use felt or foam shaped hearts, or heart doilies that are currently in the craft stores for Valentine's Day.   If the hearts don't already have a hole, just use a hole puncher to make holes so you can string ribbon through them to make the banner.

Tip #4:
Make customized Valentines for your child's friends and classmates using my DIY printables!  These cute printables are new to my Etsy shop and customized with your child's name.  They fit 3"x4" cellophane bags that you can fill with little treats or other goodies like stickers, tattoos, pencil sharpeners, etc.  I also made matching mini Hershey wrappers that you can also use to fill the bags with.

I hope these tips help and that you have a great Valentine's Day!  Stay tuned for my tutorial on how I made this tablecloth!
